To save on shipping charges, we ship from California and New York, depending on your location. The best quantities to ship are 2, 6 and 12 bottle packages.
We strongly suggest shipping your order to a business address. State law requires an adult signature at the time of delivery for every package containing wine. It is the recipient’s responsibility to ensure an adult is available to sign for the shipment at delivery. Shipments will not be delivered under the following circumstances:
- The recipient is not 21 years of age or older or does not have an acceptable form of ID such as a driver's license, passport or birth certificate.
- The recipient shows signs of intoxication.

- All orders take two full business days to process, so orders cannot be shipped the same day they are placed.
- Shipping wine is complicated by various state-mandated limits and requirements. We run your order through our state compliance matrix to ensure a legal shipment. It takes two business days to process the order, check it, and then send on to picking and packing.

- Upon the third missed delivery attempt, your shipment will be returned to Cakebread Cellars. If this occurs, we retain your original shipping charge. We’ll kindly ask you to cover the expense to re-ship it back to you.
- We can not ship to a US Postal Service Box.
