Since our first vintage in 1973, Cakebread Cellars has set out to live our values every day in our vineyards, winery and tasting room. We believe companies’ actions tell the story of who they are and what they stand for. The historic challenges of 2020 reinforced for us the importance of that commitment and the need to advance our thinking around the business challenges of today and beyond.

In 2020, we took the first steps to better and more meaningfully promote diversity and racial equity within our company, industry, and community. We know that this is a journey and our CEO, with support of the family, is taking personal ownership of our initiatives and accountability. The organization also understands that transparency plays a large role and so, we are honored to share our first Stewardship Report that highlights our work in sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as philanthropy. This report highlights our past work but also our goals for the future, knowing we must think in new ways and continuously improve how we support our environment, employees and community.
